Anarchists & Libertarians - a lot in common

No time to write a real post on this (again, I think I posted previously), but reading an article like this just reminds me that Anarchists and Libertarians are pretty similar...both want less interference of the government and often both do not like to be controlled by big business.

Oh and many in each camp seek the legalization of marijuana.

Kevin...sometimes I think my leanings are toward libertarianism and what was known as "Christian anarchism". Jaques Ellul who was classified as a Christian anarchist wrote a book called "The Meaning of the City" which is a subversive manifestor for Christian living in a world of domination.

Though I would never want to back complete lawlessness, it seems that the church (evangelical) needs to either recover or discover a consistent ethic. We lack concrete instruction of practice and discplines to guide us in living. It seems we end up following culture step for step and attempt to Christianize it?

Just random thoughts from a random thinker.

Sam...not sure if you know about them, but if you are interested in Ellul you would probably be interested in The Jesus Radicals. They are a Christian Anarchist group heavily influenced by Ellul, Yoder, etc.

They have some great content on their stie to read that you may want to check out.
